Welcome to the Year 3 and 4 team, consisting of Dosbarth Abertawe, Beaumaris and Powis. Our mixed-age classes study the same topic across the planning team, giving pupils a rich and varied range of teaching and learning experiences across the different areas of the curriculum.

This year we will be exploring life in Tudor and Stuart times. Pupils will have the chance to investigate what life was like during these periods, learn about key monarchs, and discover how events of the time shaped people’s lives in Britain. A highlight will be our visit to Little Moreton Hall, where the children will step back in time and experience Tudor buildings, clothing, and lifestyles first-hand.

Later in the year, pupils will be investigating “What’s under our feet?” where they will learn about rocks and soils, as well as the history of mining, its importance to Welsh heritage, and the impact it has had on local communities. 

Finally, we will be turning our attention to the Rainforests, discovering the amazing plants and animals that live there, and thinking about how we can all play a part in protecting our planet for future generations.
