Tour of the UK - 2020

Tour of the United Kingdom - 2020

Mr Szymura and Mr Holmes organised a challenge to support our community. Our staff, governors, children, parents and other family members logged how far they walked, ran and cycled to see if, as a school community we could combine all of our exercise to tour the major hospitals in Wales.  We started by leaving our school and head to Mold Community Hospital, Ysbyty Glan Clwyd and then Ysbyty Gwynedd,Bangor. We then continued our journey around Wales until we returned and planned to finish at the Ysbyty Maelor, Wrexham.

It seemed a big challenge for us, but it was easily overcome! So much so, that the challenge grew and it became a tour of the United Kingdom. A Just Giving page was set up to raise money for our three village care homes as well as the Nightingale House Hospice.  A donation of £170 was made to each of these four facilities to support them during the challenges of the Coronavirus Pandemic.

We wanted to support these four facilities, as the people working in these environments are working tirelessly and are not always getting the recognition that they deserve. We felt that it would be a lovely gesture, that as a school community, we help raise money to support them in their work place or to organise something that will have a positive effect on their well being.
