Mr Holmes - Deputy Headteacher & Year 5 Teacher

I have been teaching at All Saints' since January 2013 and became the school's Deputy Headteacher in January 2018. I am currently the Year 5 class teacher, but since starting at the school I have had the opportunity to teach every year group within Key Stage Two - something that has kept me on my toes and provided me with a greater insight into how the children develop before their transition to high school.

I graduated from Chester University with a Primary PGCE in 2006 and then spent 6 1/2 years teaching in two different primary schools in Shrewsbury. Prior to completing my PGCE, I graduated from Worcester University with a BSc (Hons) in Sport Science. This love of sport is something I try to bring to the school as I help to organise many different sporting clubs, events and teams. Seeing the children successfully represent our school in a variety of sporting events has provided me with many great memories. I just hope the children remember me when they are rich and famous! I also enjoy organising our residential trips in Years 5 and 6 which provide the children with opportunities to take part in a range of outdoor and adventurous activities.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am married with two young children (a son and a daughter) and  know that they are going to grow up too quickly! I also have a Cocker Spaniel called Poppy who requires lots of walks and attention. My hobbies include keeping fit and healthy by going for runs and playing football. Football is a real passion of mine and I am an avid Liverpool fan!
