Heddlu Bach
What is Heddlu Bach?
Heddlu Bach is a fun and interactive pupil leadership group for Year 5 pupils, run by PC Stuart Reeves. Heddlu Bach supports North Wales Police priorities, via participation in both educational and community environments. The pupils involved will develop confidence through many enjoyable experiences.
There are three elements to Heddlu Bach:
- Educational
- Community engagement
- Reward
The children who are selected to become part of Heddlu Bach, are the 'Mini police-officers' for the school. Their role is to help tackle local issues, highlighted in group meetings, in their own community, working alongside local Neighbourhood Policing Teams, on crime prevention initiatives and taking ownership of the tasks.
By being a part of Heddlu Bach, pupils will become ethically informed citizens of Wales, through creativeness and learning. Pupils will build resilience and develop a successful and exciting future through collaborating with communities and the police.
Heddlu Bach aims to work with all young people to promote and deliver on:
• Inspiring trust & confidence within communities
• Helping to protect communities & the vulnerable
• Communicate to reassure Communities
• Working in collaboration with communities & external partners
• Target young people with early intervention
• Educate young people on work the Police and partner agencies do
Your Neighbourhood Policing Teams are your key connectors between your school and the Police. They will be working with you on local community projects and aiding you in rewarding the young people. Building and developing strong relationships with your Neighbourhood Policing Teams is vital in becoming a successful Heddlu Bach.
