Early Education & Playgroup

From September 2022

Gresford Governors' Clubs & Playgroup

Gresford Governors' Clubs and Playgroup launches from September 2022 following the merging of operations of the Gresford Governors' Clubs and the Gresford Playgroup Ducks and Ducklings.  This new and exciting service will be provided by the same dedicated staff team and as one entity will make booking, payment and use of things such as the 30 Hour Childcare Offer much easier for parents and carers. The Gresford Governors' Clubs and Playgroup operate from The Cedar Rooms building at All Saints' School. The setting will be registered with the Charity Commission, Care Inspectorate Wales and Estyn. (HM School Inspectorate).

The Gresford Governors' Clubs and Playgroup operate as a Foundation Charitable Incorporated Organisation which is overseen by a Management Committee made up of members of the Governing Body of All Saints' School. The Responsible Individual is Mr Richard Hatwood who can be contacted through the main school office. We employ experienced, caring, friendly and well qualified staff to look after the children.  All of our staff are Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checked and trained in emergency paediatric first aid, safeguarding and food hygiene.

The Early Years Department of the School provides support for the setting and children attending to ensure a smooth and successful transition into school. The setting benefits from a fully re-furbished building, extensive outdoor area and access to the onsite Forest School area. The children undertake different activities each day and we have access to a secure, enclosed outside area which we encourage the children to use at each session.

From September 2022, we will offer Full Day Care for children aged 2 upwards in our Playgroup Setting and will offer Playgroup Plus Setting to provide full wrap around care for those children who attend Nursery at All Saints' School.  In addition, the Breakfast, Teatime and Holiday Club provided will be expanded and further enhanced. We will also be offering hot meals, cooked and served onsite for all children who are on the school site for the full day. All bookings and payment will be made using our online booking and payment portal.  Our new provision, The Gresford Governors' Clubs and Playgroup will provide Full Day Care for children aged 2 - 12 years old from 8am - 5.30pm during term time and school holidays. You can register your interest and receive a call back to discuss your needs in more detail by completing this form.

Children attending morning Nursery are escorted safely across to The Cedar Rooms by our staff at 11.30 am. Those who attend afternoon Nursery are taken to the Nursery class at 12.45pm when their session in school begins. All children who are with us all day, or over the lunchtime will enjoy their lunch together in the school canteen or in The Cedar Rooms. Children can bring their own packed lunch (ensuring it is healthy in nature) or can access school hot or cold dinners.

If you would like to contact us, you can do so by email on playgroup@allsaints-pri.wrexham.sch.uk or by calling 01978 852342.

We look forward to hearing from you and welcoming your children into our relaxed, happy, caring and safe environment.

Welcome to Gresford Playgroup Ducks and Ducklings

Gresford Playgroup Ducks and Ducklings, formerly Gresford Pre-School Playgroup, has been offering childcare in the village for over 50 years. Our wraparound setting for children starting school part-time in the nursery has been running since 1994.

Although we use the school premises (The Cedar Rooms) and have the full support of All Saints’ School, we are independent and entirely self-supporting.  A voluntary elected Committee manages Gresford Playgroup Ducks and Ducklings, which has registered charity status.

We employ experienced, caring, friendly and well qualified staff to look after the children.  All staff are DBS checked and trained in paediatric first aid, safeguarding and food hygiene.

We work closely with Mr Hatwood and the Foundation Phase staff in school to ensure that there is a consistency in our approach which, in turn, helps the children feel settled and secure in their surroundings.

The children undertake different activities each day and we have access to a secure, enclosed outside area which we encourage the children to use at each session.

We are able to offer wraparound care to all children starting nursery at All Saints’ School and so have sessions available Monday - Friday during term time.

8.50 am – 12.35 pm for children attending afternoon nursery and

11.30 am – 3.05 pm for children attending morning nursery

Children attending morning nursery are escorted safely across to The Cedar Rooms by the Nursery staff at 11.30 am.  All children bring their own packed lunch and both groups eat their lunch together until 12.35 pm when the children attending afternoon nursery are escorted across to school to be handed over to the care of the Nursery staff.
